House expected to OK bill creating State Dept. cyber office and calling for global cyber norms

The House will vote on legislation as early as today that would create a cyber issues office at the Department of State, while promoting international cyberspace norms.

The Cyber Diplomacy Act, sponsored by House Foreign Affairs Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA), would create an Office of Cyber Issues at the State Department, replacing the State Department Coordinator for Cyber Issues Office that was eliminated months ago by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson as part of department restructuring.
