Sources: DHS' strategic role on cyber underscored by White House uncertainty

The Department of Homeland Security is effectively using existing authorities and input from other agencies to advance components of a national cybersecurity strategy, some industry sources say, amid confusion about how cyber policy is taking shape within the White House and who is driving the process.

According to the sources, DHS is crafting far-reaching policy in key cyber areas that fall within its purview, most notably on government-industry interaction.
