Federal officials play info-sharing role in response to 'Meltdown' threat

The federal government is unlikely to mandate private-sector actions related to the newly revealed “Meltdown” and “Specter” vulnerabilities in Intel and other chips, but is playing an info-sharing and assistive role, according to government and private-sector sources who said this is the appropriate response.
