Senate Intelligence Committee approves Coats for top national intelligence job

The Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday approved on a 13-2 vote Dan Coats to become the next Director of National Intelligence, a role which oversees various cybersecurity policy initiatives.

During his Feb. 28 confirmation hearing, Coats pegged cybersecurity as one of his top priorities, saying the issue was “quickly rising to the top of this list.” Coats deferred on naming a top cyber adversary during the hearing, but noted Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran's capabilities in the cyber domain....
