NIST announces workshop to advance secure software effort required under AI executive order

The National Institute of Standards and Technology will convene stakeholders next week at a workshop on “secure software development practices for AI models,” under a mandate in President Biden’s artificial intelligence executive order to develop an AI-related companion to the agency’s Secure Software Development Framework.

“Attendees will gain insight into major cybersecurity challenges specific to developing and using AI models -- as well as recommended practices for addressing those challenges,” according to NIST’s Jan. 8 announcement.
