NIST issues preliminary draft guidance on ‘migration to post-quantum cryptography’

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is seeking comment on the draft first piece of a guidance package addressing the “migration to post-quantum cryptography,” a top priority for the federal government as the U.S. and adversaries race to develop quantum computing capabilities that could render current cryptography obsolete.

The draft “SP 1800-38A: Executive Summary” was posted April 24 and is open for comment through June 8.
