Senior FBI officials: ‘Very small tweaks’ to incident reporting bill would protect bureau interactions with cyber crime victims

FBI officials are pushing for changes to Senate-passed cyber incident reporting legislation before it moves toward final passage, focusing on adjusting liability language to protect the bureau’s traditional relationships with cyber crime victims, modifying proposed restrictions on using covered information in court proceedings, and “future-proofing” the legislation to ensure law enforcement’s role in the process.
