Rep. Katko sees enhancing CISA’s role, reauthorizing DHS as key priorities for Homeland Security panel

Rep. John Katko (R-NY), set to serve as top Republican on the Homeland Security Committee, says bolstering the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s authority, achieving a long-sought reauthorization of DHS and keeping cybersecurity on bipartisan footing are among his priorities for the 17th Congress starting in January.

“The more we can help bring CISA to the forefront, the better off we’ll be,” Katko told Inside Cybersecurity. “CISA has made great strides.”
