‘Slippery slope’ or ‘prudent’ move: Mixed views on Pentagon proposal for access to transport service providers’ networks amid cyber incidents

The Pentagon proposal for access to certain contractors’ networks in the event of a cyber incident is spurring mixed reactions, with some cybersecurity leaders citing a misalignment with the government’s goals for industry-led cyber risk management, and others suggesting a “prudent” expansion of authority to cover a specific group of contractors.
