Energy regulators seek comment on disclosing violations of cyber reliability standards

Federal energy regulators and the electricity industry's grid reliability group are seeking comment on a white paper that proposes public disclosure of “violations of mandatory reliability standards governing cybersecurity of the bulk electric system."

The white paper released this week by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and North American Electric Reliability Corporation notes that FERC has “received an unprecedented number of Freedom of Information Act requests” since last year for information on violations and penalties related to Critical Infrastructure...
