TSA official says interactions with industry guide cutting-edge regulatory efforts on cyber

The Transportation Security Administration is at the leading edge of the federal government’s approach to cybersecurity regulation, according to senior TSA official Scott Gorton, who says his agency’s work is based on collaboration with regulated industries and tight coordination with CISA and other government partners.

TSA has “gotten the reputation of late as the regulator of pipelines [but is also] doing it for aviation and rail,” Gorton said Tuesday at the “Hack the Railroad” conference.
