Southern Company submits new test results in urging FCC to ‘pause’ unlicensed mid-band spectrum use

Southern Company is urging the FCC to “pause” unlicensed operators’ use of the 6 GHz band, allowed under a Trump-era 2020 rulemaking, with the major electric utility saying it has “real-world” results from new testing that show interference with licensed systems important to reliability and security operations.
