Senate Homeland Security panel advances bills to reform Federal Acquisition Security Council, vulnerability disclosure requirements

The Senate Homeland Security Committee unanimously approved companion bills at a business meeting for realigning the work of the Federal Acquisition Security Council and establishing vulnerability disclosure requirements for federal contractors.

The first bill, S. 5310, the Federal Acquisition Security Council Improvement Act of 2024, from Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) and Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), is a companion to legislation that passed the House last week. The Senate version was approved at the Wednesday business meeting with...
