Sen. Warner cites software liability, acquisition reform as pieces for national cyber strategy

Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), the top Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, says policymakers should revisit existing liability protections for software developers as part of putting together a desperately needed national cybersecurity strategy.

Speaking this weekend at the South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Warner said the U.S. lacks a coherent and articulated cyber strategy, an issue that has drawn increased attention on Capitol Hill in recent weeks.
