Sen. Warner calls on healthcare stakeholders to consider wide-ranging policy options for improving cybersecurity

Senate Intelligence Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) has issued an extensive paper on policy options for health sector cybersecurity and is urging stakeholders to weigh in on issues including the need for minimum hygiene standards and a healthcare cyber framework, HIPAA modernization, software security, and the state of coordination between federal health and cyber officials.

The 36-page paper, “Cybersecurity is Patient Security: Policy Options in the Health Care Sector,” was issued Thursday by Warner’s office.
