Sen. Johnson ‘hopeful’ on adding SAFETY Act language to DHS bill, as other ‘divisive’ amendments fall away

Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) said Tuesday that the committee was in “intensive negotiations” to scrap controversial amendments to the Department of Homeland Security reauthorization bill before today’s markup, while expressing optimism that a cyber liability-protection measure will be added to the package.
