Sen. Carper announces retirement, helped shape federal approach to cyber with work on info-sharing

Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), who helped lead efforts on info-sharing and other cybersecurity issues that redefined the federal government’s approach to cyber, has announced his retirement at the end of the current Congress.

"If there was ever an opportune time to step aside and pass the torch to the next generation, it’s coming, and it will be here on January 3, 2025,” Carper said Monday.
