Revised Rodgers-Pallone privacy bill slated for markup, includes key data security provisions

The bipartisan leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee plan to mark up a revised version of the draft American Privacy Rights Act, setting a first-time federal privacy standard that pre-empts state laws and including language on data security and minimization, corporate governance requirements and restrictions on data brokers.
