Pelosi puts brakes on House Energy and Commerce privacy bill, says it fails to protect California efforts

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has joined homestate colleagues in opposing the bipartisan privacy bill passed by the Energy and Commerce Committee, saying it fails to preserve California’s ability to lead and innovate on consumer data protection and dimming the chances for floor action this year on the landmark legislation.
