NTIA software transparency initiative aims to promote use of 'bill of materials'

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration will be looking to advance the idea of using “a bill of materials” -- frequently characterized as a list of “ingredients” -- in contracts or product labels, as part of its initiative on software transparency, according to a White House intelligence official.
