NIST seeks comment, sets public workshop on proposed update to security performance measurement guidance

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has issued a draft update to longstanding guidance on the use of metrics to assess information security controls and is posing questions to stakeholders on how entities could benefit the most from revisions to the document.

The working draft of Special Publication 800-55, revision two, “Performance Measurement Guide for Information Security,” was posted Monday and is open for comment until Feb. 13. The guide was last updated in 2008.
