NIST releases draft cyber framework profile for ‘hybrid satellite networks,’ reflecting shift in space operations

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has issued for comment a profile for hybrid satellite networks based on the agency’s cybersecurity framework, as the space sector shifts from “traditional vertically integrated entities and towards an aggregation of independently owned and operated segments.”

The initial public draft of Interagency Report 8441, “Cybersecurity Framework Profile for Hybrid Satellite Networks (HSN),” was released June 6 and is open for comment until July 5.
