NIST IoT workshop launches debate over minimum security requirements

GAITHERSBURG, MD. Participants at NIST’s workshop here today on managing the privacy and security of Internet of Things devices quickly dived into a spirited discussion over whether a focus on data security -- rather than system security -- could inadvertently leave organizations vulnerable to botnet attacks.
