NIST finalizes guidance on satellite operations and uses of cybersecurity framework

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has issued the final version of guidance on applying the cybersecurity framework to satellite ground operations, with voluntary steps organizations can take to address cyber risks.

“This report applies the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to the ground segment of space operations with an emphasis on the command and control of satellite buses and payloads,” NIST said in a Tuesday announcement on the release of the guidance.
