New York financial regulators issue revised cyber proposal with limited changes to address industry concerns

New York state’s financial regulator has reissued for comment a sweeping cybersecurity proposal for the sector that incorporates some, but not all, of industry’s suggested changes to align the rules with federal and international requirements and to take a less prescriptive approach overall.

New York’s Department of Financial Services issued the revised proposal on June 28 and opened a 45-day public comment period through Aug. 14.
