Neuberger coordinating on SolarWinds, lawmakers decline to include tech upgrade money in budget instructions

The Biden White House responded quickly to lawmakers’ call for a dedicated leader to coordinate efforts around the SolarWinds hack, but congressional leaders turned down an administration request for tech modernization funding in the COVID-19 relief measure moving through the budget reconciliation process.

The White House on Wednesday said Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber Anne Neuberger is coordinating the federal response to SolarWinds – and has been doing so “since day one.”
