National security group points to cyber risk management as model for artificial intelligence policy
The Center for a New American Security says cybersecurity risk management provides a useful guide as policymakers consider security and safety regulation for “frontier” artificial intelligence models, which the group describes in comments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy as “foundation” models at the leading edge of AI capabilities and risk.
CNAS has identified “dual-use science, cyber operations, and deception/persuasion operations” as areas where AI is likely to pose national security risks. The comment period closed...
