Major industry groups raise concerns over SEC cyber rule, citing regulatory over-reach and possible new vulnerabilities

USTelecom and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, two industry leaders on cyber policy, are urging the SEC to reconsider cybersecurity regulations, in separate comments filed Monday on the commission’s cyber incident notification and risk management proposal.

The comment period closed Monday on a Securities and Exchange Commission proposal to require publicly traded companies to disclose cyber incidents within four business days and provide regular reports on cyber management.
