Lawmakers seek answers from CISA on implementation of multifactor authentication requirements

House Homeland Security members Yvette Clarke (D-NY) and Ritchie Torres (D-NY) are asking CISA Director Jen Easterly for information on implementation of a statutory mandate requiring “multifactor authentication for remote access and privileged accounts” across agencies, which was reinforced in President Biden’s 2021 cyber executive order on securing federal networks.
