IoT bill advances as Sen. Johnson cautions against government certification programs for private sector

The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee today approved legislation that would mandate standards for federal agencies’ use of connected devices, while Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) firmly expressed his opposition to expanding government standards for the “Internet of Things” to the private sector.
