Industry groups cite security and cost issues in urging FCC to halt certification for devices under 2020 mid-band spectrum rule

A coalition including the Utilities Technology Council as well as public safety, utility and other industry groups is petitioning the FCC to halt and revoke certification of 6 GHz low-power indoor devices and develop new rules for mid-band spectrum, which the FCC in 2020 opened for unlicensed use in a move designed to accompany growth in the Internet of Things.
