House GOP committee leaders press White House on potential policy conflicts over artificial intelligence

House Science Chairman Frank Lucas (R-OK) and Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) are expressing “concerns about conflicting guidance from the administration on Artificial Intelligence,” saying a White initiative on an “AI Bill of Rights” runs counter to NIST’s upcoming AI risk management framework.

The GOP lawmakers pose a series of 17 questions in a Thursday letter to White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Arati Prabhakar, seeking answers by Jan. 31.
