House defense bill: Cyber insurance, DMARC email security proposals OK’d in amendment packages

House members have agreed to amendments to the annual defense policy bill that would direct a study on the state of the cybersecurity insurance market and expand the use of the “DMARC” security standard across U.S. email providers, among the proposals adopted on Monday.

The separate amendments on insurance and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance were included in two different “en bloc” packages among dozens of proposals lawmakers added to the House version of the 2021 National Defense Authorization...
