European Commission kicks off process to implement U.S.-EU data privacy framework

The European Commission has begun the legal process necessary to implement an agreement with the United States on data privacy, taking a key step to resolve uncertainties over transatlantic commercial data flows that have alarmed business groups and flummoxed policymakers over the past seven years.
