EPA re-classifies possible regulatory moves on water cybersecurity as ‘long-term action’
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has put on hold its plans for finalizing a so-called interpretive rule adding cybersecurity requirements to state “sanitary surveys” of water systems, according to the latest federal regulatory agenda.
The agency declined to offer details on next steps but an EPA spokesperson told Inside Cybersecurity: “EPA continues to pursue this action and to that end is working with states to develop tools and provide technical assistance as necessary.
