DOD discusses 'allowable cost' on cyber; chemical bill moves

The Pentagon continues to be the fulcrum for regulatory – and quasi-regulatory – action on cybersecurity, while lawmakers advanced a bill on chemical facilities that includes cyber provisions and drones are buzzing around various policy discussions.

In a move that could alter cost calculations for many firms in their cybersecurity decision-making, Department of Defense officials say contractors can bill the government for implementing required cyber measures as DOD begins to apply a new cyber certification for defense suppliers.
