Director Copan: NIST to offer more guidance on complementary uses of risk management, cyber frameworks

SAN FRANCISCO. Director Walter Copan offered a wide-ranging update today on NIST’s cybersecurity initiatives, promising more guidance and tools to come on risk management, privacy, small-business security and securing Internet of Things devices, among a plethora of cyber issues the agency is tackling.

And collaborative, nonregulatory approaches are essential to success across all of these areas, Copan said at the “Public Sector Day” event here at the annual week-long RSA 2019 conference.
