With confirmation in hand, Krebs asserts DHS’ strategic role on cyber

DHS Under Secretary Chris Krebs, in his first public appearance since earning Senate confirmation, today asserted that his department has a defined and central strategic role on cybersecurity and pledged close cooperation with industry moving forward.

The Senate on Tuesday evening unanimously approved Krebs’ nomination to lead the Department of Homeland Security's National Protection and Programs Directorate. He had been performing the under secretary functions over the past year.
