Commerce urged to re-do ICT supply-chain rule by IBM, software makers and taxpayer groups

IBM and a key industry group for software makers have submitted sharp critiques of the Commerce Department's proposed rule on information and communications technology supply chain security, saying it should be withdrawn and redone, while a coalition of conservative-leaning groups is also lambasting the proposal.

Today is the deadline for public comment on the proposed ICT rule to implement President Trump's May 15 executive order by setting the criteria for banning ICT imports from “foreign adversaries.”
