Commerce Dept., EU Commission start talks on possible ‘enhanced’ Privacy Shield for data transfers

The Commerce Department and European Union officials are in talks aimed at ensuring a data security and privacy framework is in place for transatlantic data transfers, amid intense concerns among U.S. business groups following a July European Court of Justice decision striking down Privacy Shield as the mechanism for such protections.
