Bipartisan Senate group, including security leaders, urges more funding for Huawei ‘rip and replace’ program

A bipartisan group of 34 senators including Homeland Security, Intelligence and Commerce panel leaders is urging increased funding for the FCC’s “rip-and-replace” program, in line with a recent analysis finding a $3-billion shortfall for carrying out the initiative to rid mostly rural telecom systems of equipment made by Chinese companies deemed to present a national security threat.
