After pipeline attack, former DHS cyber leader says ‘stop with the half measures’; security pros urge action in infrastructure bill

Former DHS cybersecurity chief Phil Reitinger says the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack comes after more than two decades of incidents and warnings about critical-infrastructure vulnerabilities, and underscores the urgency around supporting good cybersecurity practices at firms of all sizes.

“Let me be clear, this is not a wake-up call. It is the result of repeatedly hitting the snooze button for a quarter century,” Reitinger, head of the Global Cyber Alliance, said in a Monday blog post.
