EAC to release for comment new voluntary voting system guidelines to secure election machines

The Election Assistance Commission voted unanimously to approve and release for comment “version 2.0” of its Voluntary Voting Systems Guidelines late last week, with the guidelines serving as a way to bolster the cybersecurity of election machines.

Version 2.0 of the EAC's VVSG is set to be published in the Federal Register soon, at which point the EAC will accept comments on the guidelines for 90 days. Feedback received will then be “compiled and presented to the commissioners for discussion...
