DOD artificial intelligence strategy seeks to address cybersecurity concerns

The Pentagon plans to work with a range of commercial companies to rapidly develop artificial intelligence capabilities "responsibly and ethically," including ensuring adequate cybersecurity, according to a new Defense Department strategy.

AI is set to change the "character of the future battlefield" and will impact "every corner" of the department, according to a summary of the 2018 DOD AI strategy released Tuesday. The Pentagon's rollout follows a White House executive order on artificial intelligence released Monday.
