Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-SD) and Senate Rules ranking member Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) have introduced new legislation to bolster the federal cybersecurity workforce through the creation of an “exchange program” for cyber experts between the private sector and government.

The Cyber Security Exchange Act would establish an “exchange program” to recruit cybersecurity professionals to work for the federal government, with private sector and academic cyber experts working for federal agencies for up to two years. The agencies would...
