Senate approves defense bill including landmark cyber strategy, IT modernization reform

The Senate today approved the fiscal 2018 National Defense Authorization Act containing requirements for a national cybersecurity strategy and reforming the federal government’s IT acquisition policies to improve cybersecurity, sending the measure to President Trump for enactment.

The Senate adopted the NDAA conference package by voice vote, just after the House passed the bill on Tuesday. The measure now heads to the White House for final approval by Trump, who is expected to sign it.
