McCain: Senate Armed Services panel is drafting cyber legislation

The Senate Armed Services Committee is in the early stages of developing new cybersecurity legislation, according to Chairman John McCain (R-AZ), as the panel mulls U.S. cyberwar policy and doctrine – a long-running McCain priority that has gained new emphasis in the aftermath of Russian hacking around the 2016 presidential election.

McCain told Inside Cybersecurity on Tuesday that the committee, which recently formed a cybersecurity subcommittee, has begun drafting cybersecurity-focused legislation, but talks have just begun and details are still being worked...
