FCC, FTC heads pledge cooperation on data rules in suspending broadband requirements

The heads of the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission have pledged to work together in rewriting data security and privacy requirements for broadband internet service providers approved during the final months of the Obama administration.

“So going forward, we will work together to establish a technology-neutral privacy framework for the online world,” FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and acting FTC Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen said Wednesday in a joint statement.
