Industry challenges constitutionality of FCC's proposed privacy rules for broadband Internet

The telecommunications and cable industries are raising constitutional questions about the Federal Communications Commission's proposed privacy regulations for Internet service providers, setting up a major legal battle that could end up before the Supreme Court.

The industries argue the FCC proposal violates First Amendment free speech and equal protection rights, among other allegations.
