Cyber info-sharing law cheered by industry, criticized by privacy groups

Industry groups praised the enactment of cybersecurity information-sharing legislation, which President Obama signed into law Friday as part of the omnibus spending package, while privacy advocates argued its privacy protections are inadequate. 

The bill includes liability protection for companies that share cyber threat data with the federal government and with industry peers.
